Panel & settings

Settings

Open Settings from the side menu, or from Open Settings in the message that says omp is missing. The page is one column of groups, from the top:

  • omp: the status of omp, the model providers, and the settings of how agents run.
  • Models: the model for each kind of work.
  • Project: where skills are installed, and Solo Mode and Manager Mode (experimental), which are switches of the working copy rather than settings.
  • Advanced: the theme, the options of Drifts, agents and omp Chat, and notifications.

Next to the title, Guided setup goes through the main settings step by step, as the first setup does. Each setting shows a title, an explanation, its control, and, where it applies, a message: The workspace setting overrides this: <value> when the project’s own settings differ from yours, or the reason a value is not valid. A change takes effect at once.

  1. Skills Dir
  2. Solo Mode
  3. Manager Mode
  4. Theme
  5. Advisor Scanner
  1. Advisor Scanner
  2. yolo or ask

Solo Mode keeps Trama’s files out of git in this working copy: see Solo mode and Merge. Manager Mode, experimental, turns on Team: see Manager mode and Team.

The list below is generated from the extension’s manifest when the site is built, so it always matches the editor’s own settings page. Each setting is also in VS Code’s Settings UI, under Trama, and in settings.json under the key shown.

omp

Omp Path

trama.ompPath · text · default: empty

Path of the omp program Trama runs for every agent, the model list and the checks. Empty looks for omp in the editor's PATH, then in ~/.bun/bin and ~/.local/bin.

Terminal Location

trama.terminalLocation · choice · default: panel

Where omp terminals open: panel (the terminal area; the default) or editor (a tab in the active editor group).

  • editor — A terminal tab in the active editor group.
  • panel — The terminal area.

Ignore Instruction Files

trama.ignoreInstructionFiles · on / off · default: off

Trama's jobs ignore agent instruction files (AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, .omp/RULES.md) in the project and your user folders. Off by default.

Auto Exit

trama.autoExit · on / off · default: on

Close the agent's terminal as soon as the agent is idle or its command ends, and ask the agent to skip its final summary (default on).

Language

trama.language · text · default: empty

The language the agent writes tasks, drifts, proposals, questions and replies in, for example Italian. The Model, Requirements, Specs and code stay in English. Empty (the default) keeps English.

System Certificates

trama.systemCertificates · on / off · default: off

On: omp and your agent's commands trust the certificates your system trusts, for proxies that inspect HTTPS. Replaces NODE_EXTRA_CA_CERTS, SSL_CERT_FILE and similar variables.

Models

Analysis

trama.analysis · text · default: empty

Model for design work: design requests, Resolve Drifts and import. Empty (the default) keeps the agent's default model.

Scan

trama.scan · text · default: empty

Model for scans and the sub-agents that compare Machines, also in each Run's pre-flight. Empty (the default) keeps the agent's default model.

Execution

trama.execution · text · default: empty

Model for implementing Tasks, in single runs and Run all. Empty (the default) keeps the agent's default model.

Max Parallel Agents

trama.maxParallelAgents · number, at least 1 · default: 20

How many sub-agents the agent may run at once (default 20). Agents without sub-agents ignore it.

Project

Skills Dir

trama.skillsDir · text · default: .agents/skills

Folder, relative to the project root, where Trama installs the agent skills.

Advanced

Appearance

Theme

trama.theme · choice · default: auto

Colours of the Trama panel. Auto (the default) follows the editor's theme; Light and Dark fix it.

  • auto — Follow the editor's theme (the default).
  • light — Always light.
  • dark — Always dark.

Drifts

Advisor Scanner

trama.advisorScanner · on / off · default: on

On (the default): during every Run an advisor, using the Scan model, checks the code against the Model and files Drifts; the Run does not scan. Scan System still works.

Async Drift Resolver

trama.asyncDriftResolver · on / off · default: on

On (the default): the agent prepares each Drift's resolution question, so Resolve asks it at once without starting an agent.

Agents

Parallel Execution

trama.parallelExecution · on / off · default: on

On (the default): in a run of several Tasks the agent may start together Tasks that concern the same thing, giving a reason.

Sub-agents Context Sharing

trama.subagentsContextSharing · on / off · default: on

On (the default): the agent passes its sub-agents what it has already read about their work, so they do not read it again.

Auto-update Stale Proposals

trama.autoUpdateStaleProposals · on / off · default: on

On (the default): a stale design Proposal shows to refine; Approve adapts it to the current Model and then approves it.

omp Chat

omp Chat

trama.ompChat · on / off · default: on

Trama's jobs open a conversation in the omp Chat view instead of a terminal.

omp Chat Approval

trama.ompChatApproval · choice · default: yolo

yolo (the default): omp runs every command without asking, even those it asks about in the terminal. ask: omp asks permission as in the terminal.

  • ask — omp asks permission as in the terminal: each request shows in the conversation and waits for your choice.
  • yolo — omp runs every command without asking, even those it would ask about in the terminal.

omp Chat Intent Tracing

trama.ompChatIntentTracing · on / off · default: on

On: in omp Chat the agent writes why it calls each tool. Off saves tokens. Applies to conversations started afterwards.

Notifications

ntfy Server

trama.ntfyServer · text · default: https://ntfy.sh

Server that receives Trama's notifications. The default is the public ntfy.sh.

ntfy Topic

trama.ntfyTopic · text · default: empty

Topic for a notification when omp Chat jobs finish or wait for you. Empty (the default) sends nothing; on ntfy.sh anyone who knows it can read them.
